About Me
Have lived more than one year in 7 countries, attended 12 schools, speak 4 languages, changed 3 nationalities.
BE OPEN TO CHANGE is one of my watchwords.
The other two are EMBRACE THE NEW and ADAPT.

What makes me tick?
New enterprises, new ideas, daring projects.
What I am specifically good at?
Finding ways to implement the new.
Marketing comes naturally.
I guess I have what is now called a "startup mindset".
Work Experience
Summary of the most relevant ones
2017
In January I moved to Barcelona feeling that I am where I am supposed to be at this moment in life.
Working at Travelclick, discovering the city and its people, doing what I like both at work and play.
Stay tuned for more news :-).
2016
Was a year of research, voluntary work, rethink, redefine, reset, travel and it lead me to ...
2006 - 2015
I am proud of the results our little team achieved in the 9 years of existence.
We went from 0 direct flights between Spain and Croatia in 2007 to 1.000 direct routes in 2015.
We doubled the number of visitors from Spain, Portugal and Brazil to Croatia.
And - we had a lot of fun while arranging over 350 press trips, assistance at 80 trade fairs, organising and participating in 57 workshops and numerous destination presentations, setting an industry standard promotional event in Madrid, creating one of the first online training courses in Spain for travel agents (2009) and redesigned in 2012, leveraging on the popularity of the TV series "Game Of Thrones" that was partially filmed in Croatia ..
The marketing mix we deployed was highly effective and even the taxi drivers were quoting our promotional slogan :-)
The results were obvious and I was asked by the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid to make a presentation on our strategies.

2005
With a splendid team of internal and external coworkers I audited the corporate branding, and then selected the design company, and implemented a unified re-branding process, including new logo, which is still in use :-)
1994 - 2003
I learned so much in Amadeus! About IT distribution, global IT product development/ interfaces/APIs and launches, international negotiations, cross functional project management, work with internal and external clients, complexity and richness of multicultural environments, creation and support to remote teams, mentoring…
I loved the win-win activities, opening of new markets, roll out of new products that made people's lives easier while generating profit and benefiting all.
On a personal level I thrived in the complexity and richness of the multicultural environment and the novelties that IT was bringing into our lives.
1980 - 2002
TOUR OPERATING
When I graduated I actually wanted to take a gap year and travel the world…. Instead, I started working in the travel industry.
Initially as a tour guide, station manager, claims department. Here I learned the importance of managing customer expectations.
Then in product design, booking, sales & marketing. Here it was all about market research, USPs and positioning.
I designed and produced tour operator brochures, created niche tour products, marketed products by generating events of interest for media..
The companies that provided the playground were mainly Yugoslav: Kompas, Astratours, Inatours, but also US Weltours and Spanish Viajes Vincit and Akali.

It was nice finding these in my recent clean-up.
Education
I studied (and graduated in) Spanish and English literature. Especially short stories and drama.
I probably attended more than 200 theatre performances during that time and investigated specifically modern theatre.
1978
Institut für Fremdsprachen, Erlangen, Germany
In parallel I attended an Institute for translation, to become a German/English translator, but soon found that I was not sufficiently passionate about it to make it my profession.
On the positive side, I expanded vastly both my German and English vocabulary and learned translation techniques.
All about international commerce. Requirement for working abroad within the public and private sector.
Licenced in Foreign Trade.
1994 - ongoing
Continued my education in studies in management, marketing, negotiation, sales, communication, leadership, project management, time management, distribution channels, e-Commerce
Public speaking within the Toastmasters organisation.
Inbound marketing with the Hubspot Academy.
I even signed up for a coding class, did my first scratch fish... but let it be... will not earn my living as a programmer...
